Introduction:
Iodine ether salamide is a halogenated salicylanilide fluke killer, a strong oxidative phosphorylation uncoupler that can inhibit the phosphorylation process of the parasite's mitochondria, thereby preventing the synthesis of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in the parasite, causing the parasite's energy metabolism to rapidly weaken and eventually die. It has a strong affinity with blood proteins, so the drug effect lasts for a long time in the blood.
Application:
Iodine ether salamide is mainly used to treat adult fasciola in horses, cattle and sheep. It may have a strong affinity with blood proteins, so it has a poor killing effect on larvae. However, it has a high repellent activity against juvenile worms over 6 weeks old in cattle and sheep. It may work immediately after the drug is used, and it is also likely that because the drug effect lasts for a long time in the blood, the drug activity in the blood has accumulated to a higher concentration when the flukes begin to ingest blood, thus achieving an insecticidal effect.
